Matériaux composites, paru pour la première fois en 1987, est un ouvrage de référence qui a puissamment contribué à la prise en compte de l'aspect « structures composites » à la fois dans l'industrie et dans l'enseignement. La seconde édition a reçu le prix francophone Roberval « Enseignement supérieur » en 1989. Cette sixième édition, revue et augmentée, répond aux préoccupations de ceux qui sont proches de la conception et du prédimensionnement de pièces travaillantes en matériaux composites : ingénieurs ou techniciens, enseignants, étudiants du premier au troisième cycle universitaire. L'ouvrage est structuré en trois parties. Le niveau technique va croissant d'une partie à l'autre et l'on peut travailler sur chacune d'entre elles de façon indépendante. La dernière partie regroupe de nombreuses applications originales entièrement traitées (plus de quarante) en relation pour la plupart avec le domaine industriel.
